Blender vs. Juicer

If you are on the market to buy a new blender to make shakes and juice regularly, you will get two options. Either go for blenders or juicers. Both of them will do the job just right. But the question is, do you need both? Do you need a blender or a juicer? We are going to try our best to answer that question for you.

Difference between blender and Juicer:

As the name suggests, a blender is a tool that blends things. You can make juice with it or blend something. They are great to make smoothies out of vegetables and fruits. You can also blend different kinds of spices.

You can find two types of blenders on the market, single service, and jug blenders.

Single service blenders are popular for their ease of use and pricing. They usually are cheaper than jug blenders. Jug blenders are useful for blending many things together. If you blend for two-three glasses of smoothie on a single go, then jug blender is the best option for you.

Blenders work at hight speed. Most modern blenders have more than 20,000 rpm motor.

Juicer, on the other hand, exists to make juice. The way it does is, it removes the pulp and fiber from fruit/vegetable and extracts the juice from it. The juice is thin and low in fiber. But they are rich in nutrients.

The problem here is you will need a lot of fruit or vegetables to make one glass of juice.

Like blenders, juicers also come in two variants centrifugal and masticating juicers.

Centrifugal juicer juices the ingredient by spinning a metal blade that presses against a strainer. The pulp is left behind on the disposal tank, and the juice flows through to the waiting container.

Masticating juicers is best for people that are looking for a juicer that wants nutrition-packed juice. The juicer straight up crushes the vegetables/fruits to remove the juice from the ingredients. The juicing time is longer than the blender or centrifugal juicer. But the juice will be highly accurate. They are quite large and costs a lot more than a centrifugal juicer.

If you are dedicated to having nutrition-packed juice every day, you should invest in one.

Blender vs Juicer:

Now you know the difference between blenders and juicers. Time for the final verdict.

Before we do that, let me tell you some advantages of having them.

Blender:

  • No fibers or pulp is thrown away because the blender mixes them all.
  • Fibers and pulps of fruits can increase your digestion and remove toxins from your body.
  • Fiber slows down the digestion to enhance the release of energy. It also prevents sugar from high and low.
  • Suitable for all vegetables and fruits. You can even make pastes of spices.
  • They are super cheap. You can even find one for less than 100$.

Juicer:

  • The juice will be pure and free of any kind of pulp and fiber.
  • As it won’t contain any pulp, you can mix multiple vegetables or fruits to make a nutritious juice.
  • They are suitable for hard vegetables and fruits.

You need to find out first what do you need. Are you a dedicated juicer that doesn’t make any smoothies or blends any spices in their kitchen? Then you know your answer. If you prefer to make smoothies/juice and enjoy mixing up kitchen components, go for blenders.

The cost is also a major concern. Juicers will set you back by quite a bit of money. If you are not prepared to spend that, go for blenders.
